Criminal Cases

Here are 3 important things you should know when looking to hire a criminal lawyer:

  • 1. Experience. You have to know that your lawyer is experienced in your kind of case and knows the court where your case is being heard. My team and I ONLY take cases that fit within our realm of our prior experience, and in courts that are familiar to us. This is why our firm limits our criminal cases in the district and circuit courts of Kent, Ottawa, Allegan, Mecosta, Muskegon, Ionia, Oceana, Osceola, and Barry County.
  • 2. Fees. Price should NEVER be any kind of secret, although it almost always is, except with our practice. Misdemeanor fees typically range from $500-$2000 depending on the type of charge and where it occurred. Felony fees typically range from $2000-$5000 depending on the type of charge and where it occurred. If the case proceeds to trial the fees increase on a per case basis. Our firm doesn’t compete with anyone else on a cost basis. Instead, we focus on charging enough to properly handle a case based upon our unsurpassed level of experience and skill to produce the best results possible.
  • 3. Personality. You have to like and trust the lawyer you are going to hire, because he or she is your spokesperson when dealing with the prosecutor and the Judge. My team and I will always be completely honest with you, and never sell out by just telling you what you want to hear. Nobody likes unpleasant surprises, and you won't get any with us.

Beyond these 3 things, everything else is pretty much just fluff and hype. As a potential consumer of legal services, you should avoid scare tactics every bit as much as promises that sound too good to be true.

When you need to find a lawyer, look for honesty, solid information and obvious integrity. There is simply no downside to being a wise consumer and exploring your options.

Anyone looking for a lawyer for a criminal charge should do their homework and read around as much as they can. One of the best ways to learn about an attorney is to see how he or she explains things, and how they explain themselves, as well.

Facing a criminal or DUI charge is stressful. You are undoubtedly feeling that right now as you look to find the right lawyer.

You can learn a lot by doing some comparison shopping, and you absolutely should do just that.

We're here to help, and make things better.

All of our consultations are free, confidential, and, best of all, done over the phone, right when you call. My team and I are very friendly people who will be glad to answer your questions, explain things, and even compare notes with something any other lawyer has told you.

I can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and if I am unable to answer, my team of receptionists will forward your message to me via text and I will get back to you as soon as I am available.  Please call ANYTIME to (616) 915-6576.
